A spook-tacular extravaganza...

In 2023, Virgin Voyages entrusted me with the creation and production of an entirely new, fleet-wide festive experience to be showcased in their exclusive theatre, The Manor. I conceived and wrote Festival of Frights, an immersive 50-minute Halloween-themed production that spotlighted the extraordinary talents of the diverse onboard singers and dancers from the Happenings Cast.

Taking full creative and technical ownership, I designed and curated all custom sound elements, collaborating closely with musicians to develop bespoke tracks that amplified the show’s unique ambiance. I also meticulously arranged all rehearsal scores using Sibelius Ultimate, ensuring the performers had precisely tailored materials to master their roles. Beyond audio, I constructed a comprehensive QLAB file and produced detailed documentation to integrate lighting, video, and automation seamlessly within the theatre’s technical infrastructure.

My hands-on approach extended to directing and choreographing the entire production, personally teaching it to three separate casts aboard Virgin Voyages’ flagship vessels: Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and Resilient Lady. This deep involvement in every stage of development guaranteed that when I designed and integrated all video elements, the execution was flawless, resulting in a visually and technically cohesive show.

The production resonated so powerfully with audiences that Virgin Voyages invited me to return and lead the installation for a brand-new cast in the 2024 Halloween season—an endorsement of the show’s success and enduring appeal.
